versacemansion 300x199 Versace Mansion to Be Sold at Bankruptcy Auction [1]One of Florida’s most famous crime scenes is on the market[2].

Gianni Versace’s 10-bedroom, 11-bathroom Miami Beach mansion will be auctioned off in September. The iconic Italian fashionista was gunned down on the front steps of the palatial home sixteen years ago, Reuters notes.

The mansion, originally built in 1930, was acquired by Versace in 1992. The 23,000-square-foot home features Italian frescos and stained glass windows. It was purchased by a businessman in 2000.

It was put on the market last year, but buyers balked at the $125 million asking price. Bids at next month’s bankruptcy auction will start at $25 million.

Versace was killed in July 1997 by Andrew Cunanan, a spree killer who murdered five people, including the designer, between April and July of that year. Pursued by the FBI, Cunanan committed suicide shortly after killing Versace.

In May, pop singer Taylor Swift paid $17 million to buy a 17,000-square-food mansion[3] overlooking Block Island Sound and Little Narragansett Bay in Rhode Island.
