Users of Facebook’s (FB) Instagram will soon be able to use the service to post content outside of the social network.
On Wednesday, the company announced that Intagram is adding a new tools that will permit the embedding of videos and photos on blogs and other websites outside of Facebook. Only content specifically designated as public can be embedded on external websites, Bloomberg notes.
Facebook paid a reported $1 billion to acquire Instagram last year.
Shares of Facebook dropped more than 1% in Thursday morning trading.
