Wendy’s (WEN) denied rumors Monday, that its new logo has a hidden message.
People claim that the Wendy’s girl’s collar contains the hidden message, “Mom.”
“We are aware of this and find it interesting that it appears our Wendy cameo has ‘mom’ on her ruffled collar. We can assure you it was unintentional,” Denny Lynch, Wendy’s senior vice president of communications, told The Huffington Post.
The logo was redesigned last year, and rumors of the hidden message started to spread in April. Stock Logos thought Wendy’s was attempting to make a connection between its food and a home-cooked meal. Other believed the message was referring the the Wendy’s girl, as she appears older in the new logo than what she did in the previous one, reports The Huffington Post.
Wendy’s has applied the new logo to restaurants all across North America, and claims that updated restaurants have seen a 25% increase in sales.
