Amazon Art Opens With a Collection of Over 40,000 Items

Over 4,500 artists featured, including Warhol and Monet

Amazon (AMZN) announced the launch of the much-anticipated online art gallery Amazon Art on Tuesday.

The online retailer’s gallery features over 40,000 items from more than 4,500 artists, according to PCWorld. Amazon partnered up with several art dealers located in the U.K., the Netherlands, Canada and several U.S. locations to make this happen, and the company makes a commission from each sale.

The collection includes original pieces from some of the most renowned artists ever, including Claude Monet and Andy Warhol. The gallery includes pieces of several art mediums including photography, print, painting and drawing.

In addition to its large collection of originals, Amazon Art also includes posters and prints of many popular masterpieces such as Picasso’s Guernica and Dali’s The Persistence of Time.

The company first made the announcement to release this high-end art gallery about a month ago.
