Blue-Collar Worker Earned $140K Just in Overtime

A New York City Housing Authority plumber made $140,654 in overtime on top of his $88,288 annual salary.

New York Daily News reports that William Naddeo[1] made over $100K by logging 1,500 hours of overtime, and he’s not the only one to make big bucks from working extra. 20 NYCHA employees surpassed the $100,000 mark in overtime pay over the last fiscal year and 12 of them were plumbers or plasterers.

Naddeo’s salary and overtime pay surpassed Schools Chancellor Dennis Walcott $212,614 earnings and NYCHA Chairman John Rhea who raked in $197,364 over the last year. However, the plumber’s wife says that he works long hours under bad conditions in some of the city’s housing developments.

With the exception of cops and district attorneys, the city paid almost a billion dollars in overtime to its workers.
