Hoping to tap into one of Asia’s fastest-growing economies, Buffalo Wild Wings (BWLD) will be setting up its restaurants in the Philippines by the end of the year.
The move is part of the restaurant chain’s broader expansion goals, which include more than a dozen locations in Canada and plans to open chains in Mexico and the Middle East. Those could happen as early as the end of the year.
BWLD reached an agreement with The Bistro Group to bring the popular wing eateries to the Manila area and beyond, though no financial details were released.
Last month, Buffalo Wild Wings reported that its second-quarter profit rose 41 percent, boosted by new store openings and lower chicken wing prices.
Those prices, however, may not remain low. With news of McDonald’s entering the boned-wing market, analysts say the price of wings may increase by the end of the year.
