Police say that a Florida Dunkin’ Donuts (NASDAQ:DNKN) employee was beaten by a couple who were angry that their coffee order was wrong.
Police arrested Jeffrey Wright, 27, for aggravated battery, and his wife, Alexis Longo, 22, who was charged with misdemeanor battery.
The Smoking Gun reports that the incident occurred in Lauderhill at 1 p.m. when Wright and Longo ordered coffee with vanilla and instead got caramel. The pair confronted the employee who handled the order, Rajay Hall, and the dispute escalated into a fight.
During the brawl, Wright, a security guard, repeatedly struck the victim in the head with a loaded Taurus Slim 9mm handgun (which he is licensed to carry). Store surveillance video shows Wright pummeling the worker while Longo gets in a few blows.
Lauderhill Police spokesman Lt. Mike Butkus said Longo was heard by witnesses telling Wright to shoot the manager.
The employee did not sustain life-threatening injuries.
“He was struck in the head a few times,” co-worker Gary Benjamin told CBS Miami. “I heard the blow connect. But he’s ok. He’s a tough kid.”
