Google (GOOG[3]) has launched a new website called — appropriately enough — “Views” that permits users to upload 360-degree “photo sphere” pictures from their Google+ social media accounts. Photo sphere images can be taken on a number of smartphones running Google’s Android operating system, the Los Angeles Times notes.

Users can post images directly from their Android devices by opening the images in their phone’s gallery application and then opting to share the image using Google Maps. Images can be uploaded from Google+ accounts by clicking on an icon styled after a blue camera after logging into the Views website.

Google has long incorporated 360-degree panoramic images in the Street View feature in its maps application.

Last month, Google restored the voice calling feature to its Gmail service[4], allowing users to make phone calls through its Google Hangouts service.

Shares of Google more than 1% in Thursday morning trading.
