Hasbro (HAS) has announced that its popular board game Monopoly will receive a new token to play with: a cat.
Examiner.com reports that the cat will be the newest addition to the Monopoly family, replacing the iconic iron token in the game. The addition of the cat makes it only the second animal to have its own token in Monopoly along with the dog.
Eric Nyman – Hasbro senior vice president of marketing – said that the company is sad to get rid of the iron but they have no doubt that the cat will be just as popular.
Hasbro is one of the largest toy manufacturers in the world and it was named as one of Fortune’s top 100 companies to work for in 2013. The toymaker’s stock has increased 0.5% in the last five days, currently sitting at $45.80 a share.
