Microsoft Workers Getting Free White Xbox Ones

Microsoft (MSFT[1]) employees who worked on the Xbox One will be getting a white version of the console from the company.

The Verge reports that this information was leaked[2] on Reddit by a user who said that the white Xbox One is a gift for Microsoft employees who helped create the console. Besides being a different color from the original black Xbox One, this limited-edition console has an engraving on the front that says “I made this.”

In addition to getting the console, Microsoft workers will also get a free year of Xbox Live, games and a special achievement on the day of the launch. Earlier this month, Microsoft announced plans to offer gamers Xbox One development kits[3] that allow them to create their own indie games.

The console is scheduled for a November release in the U.S.  and Europe and early next year for other markets.
