Kendra McKenzie Gill — the recently crowned Miss Riverton, Utah — was arrested over the weekend in Salt Lake City County on suspicion of throwing homemade bombs. Police say she and friends tossed the explosive devices from a car at people and property, the Associated Press reported.
Gill was arrested along with three others, and police say the foursome admitted to buying chemicals, aluminum foil and plastic bottles to make the devices.
It’s yet unknown if she’ll be able to compete as Miss Utah.
While a beauty queen bomber may be a first, here are some other beauty queens gone bad:
- Miss Hispanoamerica 2009 Laura Zuniga was stripped of her title after being detained by police on suspicion of drug trafficking.
- Miss America 1984′s Vanessa Williams, the first black Miss America, was famously asked to relinquish her title when Penthouse published her nude photos.
- Miss USA 2006 Tara Conner admitted to using cocaine and reportedly provided alcohol to her 19-year-old roommate, another pageant queen.
