Samsung (SSNLF) has just fixed some flaws in its Samsung Smart TVs that made it easier for hackers to watch you and possibly even hack into your bank account.
According to CNN, hackers would hack into these devices through the TVs’ smart features such as their cameras and Internet connection. Samsung has said that it has sent a software update to its users which patches these security holes that were originally discovered by security firm iSEC Partners.
These hackers could easily tap into the Smart TVs’ cameras and watch you from your home. In some cases, they would send users to websites that allowed hackers to get access their personal information including their bank accounts.
Even though these bugs have been fixed, iSEC has said that the software update doesn’t guarantee that there will not be security breaches in the future. As of now, the Samsung Smart TVs have been patched, but hackers constantly find new ways to invade people’s privacy.
