A swarm of bees caused two delays on Sunday’s Major League Baseball game between the Los Angeles Angels and the Seattle Mariners.
Reuters reports that the bees were shooed away with a fire extinguisher after showing up twice in the outfield. They first arrived in the 3rd inning and distracted the outfielders and the pitchers, causing a 23-minute delay before the game was resumed. The bees weren’t done as they came back in the 4th inning for more before they were finally driven away with a fire extinguisher.
The Mariners coach Eric Wedge said that he had never seen anything like that even though he’s seen several types of bugs in his days as a manager. The Mariners won the game 3-2.
