BMW BMW Recalls 134k 5 Series Over Light IssuesBMW issued a recall of 134,000 5-Series vehicles over light issues on Friday.

The cars are being recalled because the rear lights on them can fail. Increased electrical resistance can cause shorts in tail, brake, turn-signal and backup lights. Included in the recall are 528i, 535i, 550i and M5 cars from model years 2008 trough 2010. The recall only affects cars in the United States. BMW said that the cars will give drivers visual and audible warnings should the rear lights fail. Owners of the affected cars will be informed about the recall starting next month. They will be able to have the light connections replaced at a dealer for free. BMW says that it hasn’t had any reports of accidents or injuries related to the issue, reports MSN Money.

BMW isn’t the only vehicle manufacturer issuing recalls. Honda Motors (HMC) issued a recall on 405,000 vehicles yesterday due to a glitch in the airbag system.
