A troubled pop idol has snagged a pricey gig in Las Vegas.
Britney Spears has signed up to give 96 concerts at the gambling capital’s Planet Hollywood over a two-year period. The singer will be paid a reported $15 million each year, roughly $312,500 per concert, TMZ notes.
The first concert will be held on December 27. The concerts were promoted on ABC’s Good Morning America show on Tuesday, with Spears arriving via helicopter.
Sources tell TMZ that Spears won’t reside in Las Vegas during the next two years, preferring to remain in her current home so as not to interfere with her children’s school schedule.
Spears rose to fame in the late 1990’s with a string of hit album. In later years she gained notoriety through unusual behavior and a messy divorce from her second husband Kevin Federline. In 2012, she was paid a reported $15 million to appear as a judge on TV’s The X Factor.
In January, Spears called off her engagement to her agent, Jason Trawick.
