Caesars Entertainment (CZR) will launch online poker on its World Series of Poker website on Thursday.
Players on the poker website will be able to bet using real money. The site will only be available to those within Nevada’s borders. Nevada legalized online poker in 2011 and created regulations for online gaming later that year. Nevada is likely to partner with New Jersey to allow more users access to its website as early as 2014. The launch of the World Series of Poker website will make it the second Nevada gaming firm to offer an online poker site that uses real money. The other online poker site that uses real money is a branch of Station Casinos called Ultimate Poker, which launched earlier this year. Caesars already signed up 12,000 players during its World Series of Poker event held earlier this summer, reports Card Player.
“We’ve been talking with players and we listened to what they said that they want to see in the online game,” Mitch Garber, CEO of Caesar Interactive, told The Las Vegas Review-Journal.
