The soda and snack maker had led Omnicom Group’s Interbrand list of the most valuable global brands since the it first debuted in 2000. This year, Coca-Cola fell to third place, bested by the power of two technology brands, the New York Times notes.
According to Interbrand, the most valuable brand in the world is Apple (AAPL). The iPhone-maker took the second spot last year. In 2011, it was ranked eight.
Following Apple on this year’s list is rival technology giant Google (GOOG), which was ranked fourth last year.
Shares of Apple slipped modestly in Monday morning trading, while Coca-Cola sank about 1%.
