Rhabdomyolysis is a rare condition as the overall annual incidence is only 0.06%.
The unofficial mascot of CrossFit is Uncle Rhabdo, a cartoon clown with the condition meant as a warning to those who use the workout. CrossFit can be very effective if used moderately, but it can ruin your body if abused. Beginners should be especially wary of not overextending themselves and increasing their risks of getting the disease.
