A Georgia wedding was cancelled only 40 days before it was set to take place and the bride’s parents decided to do a good deed instead of cancelling the catering.
USA Today reports that Willie and Carol Fowler had already paid for the venue, food and entertainment so they decided they would throw a party anyways—it just wasn’t for the bride. Willie decided that the wedding would become an event for the charity Hosea Feed the Hungry, an organization that his daughter had volunteered for in the past.
The event took place in the Atlanta area and 200 homeless guests were bused to the four-course meal party. A spokesperson for the charity thought it was a prank at first, but the Fowlers delivered and fed homeless people on an event that they plan on throwing every year now.
