Disney Ends Deal With ‘Pirates’ Producer Bruckheimer

The 'Pirates' franchise has earned over $5B

Jerry Bruckheimer’s partnership with Disney (DIS) has come to an end as the two are ready to part ways after enjoying two decades of success.

BBC reports that the studio will end its first-look deal with the legendary movie producer and it maintains that the two continue to have a good relationship. Despite The Lone Ranger’s poor box office performance, Disney says that this separation has nothing to do with the Bruckheimer-produced movie and said that the company will continue to work with him in the future.

Bruckheimer said that he’s interested in going back to producing more “mature” films after his stint with Disney. The relationship between the two was very fruitful as they produced the National Treasure movies and the Pirates of the Caribbean series which has raked in over $5.4 billion for the company.
