A former NFL player committed suicide and was found dead on Tuesday night at his home near Atlanta.
The Huffington Post reports that 29-year-old Paul Oliver died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in Marietta, Georgia. Oliver played in the NFL for the San Diego Chargers as a defensive back for four seasons. Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers said that it’s always hard to lose someone you used to play with every day. Antonio Gates also played with Oliver and he said that Oliver was an easygoing teammate who usually kept to himself.
Oliver was a fourth-round pick from the University of Georgia in 2007. He had a career year in 2010 when he had 62 tackles and an interception in eight starts.
