Hertz (HTZ), announced on Wednesday, that it is adding Tesla Motors’ (TSLA) Model S and Roadster vehicles to its high-end fleet.
The cars will be located at airports in Las Angeles and San Francisco. There will be five Tesla cars available between the two airports. The price to rent the vehicles will start at around $500 a day. The addition of the Tesla cars expands upon Hertz’s Dream Cars program, which already includes vehicles from Ferrari and Lamborghini, reports Businessweek.
The Model S that will be available at the airports is the 85kWh model, which is capable of travelling up to 265 miles on a single charge. The addition of the Model S to Hertz’s fleet is part of the company’s Living Journey program, which focuses on smart mobility solutions, the environment and community outreach.
