Jay Z is not the top hip-hop earner in the world despite his numerous business ventures and platinum albums.

Forbes reports that in its new list[1] of the highest earners in the hip-hop world, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs came out on top after raking in $50 million over the last year. The rapper has had a ton of success thanks to his clothing line, his Bad Boy record label and his deal with Diageo’s Ciroc vodka.

The next man on the list is Jay Z who earned about $43 million over the last 12 months thanks to his deals with Armand de Brignac champagne, his record label and his management firm. The ‘Big Pimpin’ artist has been very successful lately signing major sports figures to his firm including New York Yankees player Robinson Cano and NBA player Kevin Durant.

The third man on the list is Dr. Dre who made $40 million over the same span thanks to his headphone company Beats by Dr. Dre.
