Kiplinger: Worst Things to Buy in September

Appliances and cars can be found for cheaper in November, December

  • Appliances: Some appliances can actually be found for a pretty good deal in September and October, but you should hold out if you’re looking for a better deal. • Cars: September marks the beginning of the car season, but the previous year’s models don’t drop as much in price this month as they do in December. The dealers’ monthly and annual sales goals will force them to drop the price in some cars, thus giving the customer more negotiating power.
