A tragic accident occurred on Monday when a 3-year-old girl died after getting trapped in a sofa bed.

The Associated Press reports that New York City police is arresting 55-year-old Mohamed Barry for endangering the welfare of Aissante Diallo which eventually led to her death. He was supposed to be taking care of Aissante and her 10-year-old sister when the accident happened.

Barry was dating the mother of the daughters and he stepped out for 10 minutes before the accident happened. The two girls were on the sofa bed when it folded up and trapped both girls but the older one managed to get out. However, Aissante did not make it out and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
