Campbell Soup (CPB) and Green Mountain Coffee Roasters (GMCR), announced on Wednesday, that the companies will team-up to make Campbell’s Soup available in Keurig K-Cups.
The decision to make Campbell’s Soup available in K-Cups is a result of American customers snacking more often. Campbell and Green Mountain are expecting to fill the stomachs of snacking Americans with the new Campbell’s Fresh-Brewed Soup K-Cup. Campbell’s K-Cups will include a broth K-Cup, a pack of dried pasta and a vegetable blend garnish. The soups can be made in just a few minutes. The companies plan to release three soup flavors in 2014, including Homestyle Chicken Broth & Noodle, reports Market Watch.
Close to 46% of money spent by consumers on coffee machines went toward single-serve machines last year.
