Target Ticket: 10 Things to Know About the New Streaming Service

Discount retail chain Target (TGT[3]) is launching its own video streaming service. The national retailer developed the new service — dubbed Target Ticket — under an agreement with non-profit media group Common Sense Media.

Target Ticket will include detailed reviews with content offered on the service, allowing parents to select content appropriate for their children.

Here are 10 things to know about Target Ticket:

  1. It has a library of 30,000 movies and TV shows.
  2. Titles can be rented, streamed or downloaded for as little as 99 cents.
  3. A subscription is not needed.
  4. Each new guest gets 10 free movie downloads from a list of select titles.
  5. Viewers can access more than 50 popular TV shows the day after they air.
  6. Rented titles can be watched an unlimited number of times within 48 hours.
  7. It provides filters, permitting parents to screen content by MPAA ratings, age appropriateness, violence or profanity levels.
  8. Profiles can be customized for each family member.
  9. Multiple viewers can stream video to separate devices simultaneously.
  10. The library includes premium movie releases and original media content.

Shares of Target fell almost 1% in Wednesday afternoon trading.
