Sanrio’s (SNROF[1]) Hello Kitty is mostly known for showing its adorable face in backpacks and accessories, but the cartoon cat is now conquering the skies.

CNN reports that EVA Air’s new Hello Kitty jet[2] flew with passengers for the first time last week during its Sept. 20 trip from Taiwan to Los Angeles. The Boeing (BA[3]) 777 is one of five Kitty-themed planes that EVA Air has created as part of a partnership with Sanrio. The plane is scheduled to fly three times a week from Taipei to Los Angeles. Additionally, there have been talks about eventually adding Hello Kitty flights to Europe.

EVA Air’s Hello Kitty planes all have different themes related to the cartoon cat’s world including My Melody (Hello Kitty’s best friend), Little Twin Stars’ Kiki, Lala and Kitty’s rival Kuromi. Whenever passengers board one of these planes, they will get cat-stamped with Kitty stickers in special Hello Kitty-themed gates. Additionally, the inside of these planes will be full of Hello Kitty items including tissues, utensils and snacks.
