A video showing a woman twerking with unfortunate consequences has been revealed as a prank.
The video, which quickly went viral on Google‘s (GOOG) YouTube, appeared to show a woman trying to emulate the “twerking” dance moves so ably displayed by Miley Cyrus at the recent Video Music Awards. The video has since received more than 9 million views since it was posted, USA TODAY notes.
But it turns out that the video actually pre-dates Cyrus’ highly-publicized and much denounced performance. Commedian and late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel admitted on Monday that he was behind the video, which was produced two months ago and would “hopefully put an end to twerking forever.”
In the video, the woman falls through a table and catches on fire while trying out the dance.
Kimmel said the woman in the video was a stunt actor.
