Some consider whiskey to be the most authentic American spirit, but an adult beverage resource group shows that vodka is the liquor of choice for most Americans.
Nation’s Restaurant News reports that Technomic examined the popularity of hard liquor in the U.S. and vodka makes up 30% of all on-premise spirits. The liquor grew 6% in 2012 and part of its success has to do with the boom of flavored vodkas. There are dozens of new vodka flavors out there including whipped cream, cinnamon, cookie dough, root beer float and smoked salmon.
A report by the Demeter Group shows that vodka is the fastest-growing spirit in the world and the spirit produced over $5.5 billion in the U.S. last year, according to Yahoo! Finance. About 60% of that amount comes from domestic vodka.
Aristocrat Group Corp’s (ASCC) RWB Ultra-Premium Handcrafted Vodka is the latest domestic vodka to come out of the U.S. and many expect it to increase the popularity of the spirit even further. The company’s CEO says that RWB is made out of the finest Idaho potatoes and it offers a gluten-free alternative that everyone can enjoy
