Walmart (WMT) will launch a smartphone trade-in program Sept. 21.
The program will allow customers to bring in their old smartphones for credit toward a new one. The smartphones must work and can’t be damaged. Customers can receive anywhere from $50 to $300 worth of credit. Walmart will offer over 100 smartphones, including ones with prepaid plans, to customers who trade-in their phones. Phones will be able to be traded in at over 3,600 Walmart and Sam’s Club locations, reports the Associated Press.
“More and more, customers are choosing where they purchase new smartphones based on where they’ll get the best value for their trade-ins,” Steve Bratspies, executive vice president of general merchandise for Walmart U.S., told CNN Money.
