Yahoo’s Mayer First Woman to Top Fortune’s 40 Under 40

The new Fortune edition of its ‘40 under 40 list’ includes several tech moguls including Yahoo (YHOO[1]) CEO Marissa Mayer.

CNET reports that the 38-year-old executive[2] came out at the top of the list, beating out other young CEOs such as Square’s Jack Dorsey and Facebook (GOOG[3]) founder Mark Zuckerberg. Mayer is the first woman to top Fortune’s list and part of her place there is thanks to the recent success of a resurgent Yahoo.

She stresses that Yahoo’s comeback is not complete and they are quickly becoming a major internet force once again. Fortune added that since Mayer became CEO in June 2012, the company’s stock has been through the roofs, enjoying an 86% increase over that span.
