On Thursday, an accident at one of Disney’s (DIS) theme parks left a little boy badly hurt.
French authorities are investigating the incident, which occurred at the Disneyland Paris. A five-year-old boy sustained serious injuries after falling out of a boat at the park’s Pirates of the Caribbean ride, the Associated Press notes.
According to a statement released by Disneyland Paris, the child is in the hospital, but is improving. The ride has been shut down pending the outcome of the investigation.
The park drew 16 million visitors last year. An unnamed official at the theme park noted that the incident marked the first accident involving the Pirates ride.
In July, a 12-year-old girl was apparently infected with deadly brain-eating amoeba at a water park in Little Rock, Ark., leading the park to permanently close the lake in which she was swimming.
Shares of Disney was flat in Thursday pre-market trading.
