An alligator about six feet in length made its way up to the store’s front entrance. Possibly confused about where it was going, the gator stopped in the doorway. Walmart staff secured the sliding glass doors to prevent the scaly predator from entering the store, the Associated Press noted.

Prior to employees locking the entrance, the gator’s presence prompted the automatic glass doors to open and close repeatedly as customers looked on and took photos.

The gator was eventually persuaded to leave the doorway by local police and stalked off in the direction of a wooded area adjacent to the store.

Last week, a Michigan Walmart fired an employee who was attacked by three men after he went to the assistance of a woman who he thought was being attacked in the store’s parking lot. The store said the worker violated a company policy that restricts employees from becoming involved in altercations.
