Anheuser-Busch Must Stop Selling Budweiser in Italy

The Czech brewery Budejovicky Budvar NP said that rival company Anheuser-Busch InBev (BUD[1]) is banned from using the Budweiser name in Italy.

The Washington Post reports[2] that the ongoing legal battle between the two sides has resulted in a victory for Budvar. The Czech brewery’s director Jiri Bocek said that the court considered Anheuser-Busch’s use of Budweiser to be deceptive. Budvar’s rivals have yet to comment on the loss but the bottom line is that the company will no longer be able to sell Budweiser in Italy.

This legal battle went on for over a decade before coming to this resolution but the war between the two companies has been going on for much longer than that[3].
