Blizzident: New Toothbrush Claims a 6-Second Clean

Dentists are skpetical about the effectiveness of the toothbrush

Blizzident’s new toothbrush could be the latest advance in dental hygiene as the developers claim that the device can provide a thorough clean in six seconds.

ABC News reports that the Blizzident product costs $299 and each one is unique as they are customized for each person using a 3-D printer. A spokesperson for Blizzident said that the goal was to create the perfect toothbrush that cleans perfectly everywhere. The scientists behind the revolutionary dental product did not plan for the cleaning to only take six seconds but it simply worked out that way.

New York University College of Dentistry’s Dr. Mark S Wolff is among the dentists who are skeptical about the product. Wolff says that a thorough cleaning requires two minutes because that’s how long it takes the fluoride from the toothpaste to activate and he believes that the toothbrush requires more testing.

The American Dentistry Association recommends that people change their toothbrush after three or four months but the Blizzident one is meant to last a year.
