Subscribers who use Comcast’s (CMCSA) Xfinity TV Go mobile app are getting a raft of new viewing choices.
On Tuesday, the cable provider announced that it will issue an update that will make 35 channels available for viewing over WiFi connections, meaning that mobile device users can take the channels with them when they leave their homes — so long as they have access to a WiFi hotspot, the Associated Press notes.
Channels available for on-the-go viewing will include Time Warner’s (TWX) CNN, CNBC, Disney’s (DIS) ESPN and 21st Century Fox’s (FOXA) FX and Fox News.
The move marks the first time that Comcast will broadcast live channel feeds to mobile devices outside of special events.
Comcast will release the updated app for downloading by users some time in the coming days.
Shares of Comcast fell more than 1% in Wednesday morning trading.
