Consumer Reports has released its annual most reliable auto brands survey and the top three brands all come from Japan.
Consumer Reports ratings of reliable auto brands are determined by surveys that are filled out by its readers. The magazine rated Toyota Motor’s (TM) Lexus brand as the most reliable auto brand with an above average reliability score. Toyota was ranked as the second most reliable auto brand with all of its vehicles being rated with average or above average reliability. Third place was taken by Honda Motor’s (HMC) Acura brand. All Acura vehicles received a reliability rating of above average. Seven of the top 10 most reliable auto brands came from Japan. Ford’s (F) C-Max Energi plug-in hybrid was ranked at the bottom of the ranking, reports USA Today.
Consumer Reports has removed three of Toyota’s vehicles from its recommended list. The magazine no longer recommends Toyota’s Camry, RAV4 and Prius V.
