Cool Weather Brings Ladybug Swarms to Southern U.S.

Millions of ladybugs have swarmed Tennessee and the rest of the South


ladybugLadybugs are taking over Tennessee, New Orleans and the rest of the Deep South in swarms of millions.

International Business Times reports that Asian lady beetles — also known as ladybugs — have grown considerably over the last few years due to the relatively mild winters in the U.S. To make matters worse, the polka dot insects have been migrating in force to the South in order to find a warm place to spend the winter in.

Unfortunately for many, ladybugs have been entering people’s houses through cracks and crevices by the thousands and taking over entire homes. As harmless as these insects are, they exude an orange blood that can stain and smell bad so experts recommend getting rid of them with a vacuum cleaner.
