Dwayne Johnson to Star in 3D Earthquake Film

The film is expected to hit theaters in 2015


Dwayne Johnson, aka The Rock, will be staring in a new earthquake disaster film called San Andreas.

Johnson will play the role of a helicopter rescue pilot that has to travel across California on foot to save his daughter after a deadly earthquake leaves the state in ruins. The film will be directed by Brad Peyton, who previously worked with Johnson in Journey 2: The Mysterious Island. The film has been written by various people, including Carlton Cues, who previously worked on Lost and Carey Hayes and Chad Hayes, who previously worked on Conjuring 2. San Andreas is expected to start filming in April and will be released in 2015, reports E!

Johnson took to Twitter to announce his involvement in the film.
