Kraft to Remove Controversial Ingredient From 3 Products

Kraft (KRFT[1]) is removing artificial dyes from three of its popular macaroni and cheese products.

The Associated Press reports that the company[2] is following the lead of many food manufacturers by replacing artificial ingredients with natural ones. Kraft is making the change to its three kid-friendly mac and cheese varieties and the company insists that this change will not change the original flavor of its product.

A petition through Change.org asked the manufacturer to change its artificial dyes from its macaroni and cheese kits. Despite the fact that this petition got about 350,000 signatures, Kraft said that the recipe change was not a result of the petition. The company added that it will replace the artificial dyes with paprika and other spices for coloring.
