The Age reports that the pop star was texting[1] on her BlackBerry during the first half of the New York Festival premiere of 12 Years A Slave. Madonna was asked to stop but she responded by saying that it was for work and was subsequently banned from ever attending a movie at Drafthouse.

The theater’s CEO Tim League said that he believes that people should never text during a movie, especially during a premiere. League added that all of the company’s theaters have been informed on the incident and Madonna will be banned from them until she apologizes.
