A top class distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky was robbed and some believe that it was an inside job.
CNN reports that the Buffalo Trace Distillery noticed that 65 cases of its 20-year-old Pappy van Winkle bourbon were missing this week. They believe that it was an inside job done over a two-month period by taking the whiskey out of a secured area. A local sheriff said that Pappy van Winkle is “highly coveted” and “it’s the best of the best.” Local authorities will be on the lookout for any bourbon being sold in the black market.
Pappy van Winkle is one of the finest and rarest bourbons out there with some retailers selling it for over $1,000 a bottle.
