Sylvester Stallone may be best known as the actor behind action heroes like Rambo and Rocky Balboa, but the 67-year-old has another talent, perhaps less known to his fans.
The muscular star of the Rocky film franchise has been painting for decades. Now a museum in St. Petersburg, Russia, is showing off his works in a retrospective, titled: “Sylvester Stallone. Art. 1975-2013: Painting From 1975 until Today” The show features 36 paintings by the popular actor, TheBitBag notes,
Not surprisingly, not everyone in the Russian art world is happy about the exhibition. Critics note that he is an amateur and appeared in films that cast the former Soviet Union in a poor light.
Stallone appeared at the opening of the show, which runs until mid-January, and quipped that he was “a much better painter than an actor.”
He brushed off criticism from the Communist Party, saying, “If my visit is a challenge for somebody, let it be so.”
