Squirrel is No. 1 Suspect in College Bike Vandalism Spree

A squirrel appears to be the unlikely culprit of an incident in Iowa regarding a vandalized bicycle.

The Associated Press reports that a math professor at Iowa Lakes Community College saw his bicycle torn to shreds after parking it outdoors. Another professor took a picture of a squirrel attacking the bike and college officials say that the rodent chewed through two tires, a bicycle seat, a headlight and a taillight on Wednesday and Thursday.

A spokeswoman for the college said that the photo gave them enough evidence to figure out how the bicycle was vandalized. The professor said that he now parks his bicycle indoors.
