A new survey shows that Twitter is the most popular social network among teenagers in the U.S.
Daily News reports that Twitter was preferred by 26% of surveyed adolescents, beating out Facebook (FB) and Instagram which were each chose by 23% of teens. Tumblr was only chosen by 4% and Google’s (GOOG) social network Google+ was only preferred by 3%. Twitter says that it has a whopping 218 million active users around the world.
The survey was conducted by financial firm Piper Jaffray and it consisted of 8,600 adolescents. Analysts Gene Munster and Douglas Clinton say that they aren’t surprised by the results because there has been a trend in the firm’s survey that’s been moving toward Twitter lately.
