The town started to become a ghost town after its cotton mill closed down. This made it the perfect place for The Walking Dead to shoot confrontations between humans and walkers. The town started seeing tourist after The Walking Dead episode Clear was shot is the town. 3,600 tourist have shown up at the town for a free tour since last summer. The tour is led by Grantville Mayor Jim Sells, who tells tourist where scenes from the Clear episode were shot. The town has seen visitors coming from as far as Australia, Singapore and Brazil. Tourist can come together on Saturdays to watch the Clear episode, which is the 12th episode in The Walking Dead’s third season. Many of the people living in Grantville know the episode by heart and can recite dialog from it, reports the Associated Press.
The Walking Dead’s fourth season will air on Oct. 13 and it will feature some changes to the group.
“There’s around about 50 new characters, which puts obviously an enormous amount of pressure on the group with the practical necessities of food and water,” Andrew Lincoln, who plays Rick Grimes in the show, told Entertainment Weekly.
