Despite what she claimed, former Teen Mom Farrah Abraham did not make anywhere near $1 million for her infamous “leaked sex tape,” with the real amount being closer to $10,000.
In other words, these days celebrity sex tapes aren’t selling for what they used to.
Fox News looked at what these minor celebrities make for their sex tapes and found the price range to be quite smaller than many would think.
Professional sex tape broker Kevin Blatt told Fox that while Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian did make millions for theirs, those days are long gone. Abraham received $10,000 from porn production company Vivid — the same offered to Pippi Longstockings actress Tami Erin for her tape.
The rest comes from a percentage of promised sales of the tape, and because — spoiler alert! — these videos are free online for anyone who can use Google, the women never see that much cash.
Abraham was supposed to recieve 30 percent of sales from her film, but Vivid porn star Jasmine Waltz told Fox that the former MTV Teen Mom will never see that amount.
“Vivid told me they would give $125,000 and 25 percent of the back end, all the sales that are made,” Waltz, star of Real Jasmine, said. “Basically, you’ll never see the back end after advertisement. You won’t get the money. It’s a very untrustworthy business.”
