What’s With All the Giraffe Pictures on Facebook?

Many Facebook (FB[1]) users have changed their profile pictures to a giraffe and it’s all thanks to one man’s riddle.

ABC News reports that vlogger[2] Andrew Strugnell came up with The Great Giraffe Challenge which asks challengers the following riddle: “3:00 am, the doorbell rings and you wake up. Unexpected visitors, It’s your parents and they are there for breakfast. You have strawberry jam, honey, wine, bread and cheese. What is the first thing you open?”

You can go to Strugnell’s website[3] and post your answer on a blank field and basically nothing will change if you get the answer right. However, as Strugnell mentioned on a YouTube video[4] he made on Oct. 26, you must change your profile picture to a giraffe for three days if you get the answer wrong.

The challenge started in the vlogger’s website but it has now spread to Facebook, message boards and several other social media outlets.
