Earlier this week, Nike (NKE) unveiled an updated version of its Nike+ Fuelband activity tracker.
Worn on the wrist, like a watch, the Nike+ Fuelband SE allows users to monitor the calories they burn and other metrics while exercising or participating in physical activity. The device transmits data to a mobile app and to the Nike+ website. The web portal give users a way to compared their progress to other participants, set fitness objectives and track their own development.
Nike has positioned the Fuelband SE as a component of its expanding Nike+ product line, which includes apps for Apple‘s (AAPL) iOS devices, TheVerge notes.

- It adds Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, allowing real time tracking of workouts.
- It is priced at $149.
- It will offer prompts to keep users active.
- A double tap on the device will display the current time.
- It will hit store shelves on November 6.
